Description
The concept of Tridosha—Vata, Pitta, and Kapha—is fundamental to understanding human health and disease. These three doshas are biological energies derived from the five elements (earth, water, fire, air, and space) and govern all physiological and psychological functions of the body and mind.
Vata is composed of air and space. It controls movement, breathing, circulation, and nerve impulses. Imbalance in Vata can lead to anxiety, dryness, constipation, joint pain, and insomnia.
Pitta is made up of fire and water. It governs digestion, metabolism, and body temperature. When Pitta is imbalanced, it can cause inflammation, acidity, anger, skin rashes, and liver disorders.
Kapha consists of earth and water. It provides structure, stability, and lubrication. Excess Kapha may result in weight gain, lethargy, respiratory issues, and depression.
Health issues occur when one or more doshas become imbalanced due to improper diet, lifestyle, emotions, or environmental factors. Ayurveda aims to restore balance through personalized diet, herbs, daily routines, yoga, and detox therapies. Understanding your dominant dosha and its tendencies can help prevent diseases and promote holistic well-being.
